Abstract

This paper introduces RtViewer, a four-dimensional (3D + time) real-time visualization software for guiding cardiovascular interventions that is open source and freely available. RtViewer was designed to be part of a pipeline that can connect it to a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner, actively tracked catheters, and navigational devices. The architecture and features of RtViewer will be described with examples of guiding percutaneous cardiovascular interventions. The paper concludes with a brief description of the work in progress on the next generation of this platform, named Vurtigo.
