Project description:

OpenTele collects clinical health data from citizens at home. Clinicians review data through a web-portal, and take actions upon data, that are beyond the individual’s allowable data boundaries. The system is aimed at increasing the direct involvement of patients and citizens in taking charge of their health, independent of geographical distances between patient and clinicians. This is especially helpful for people with chronic diseases, but also everyone else interested in monitoring their own health, or even for screening purposes of large groups, where available clinicians are scarce.
OpenTele is a fully implemented, functional and documented telehealth solution. Being Open Source it excels in having very low entry cost, and low production costs. It has been designed for easy deployment and large scale deployment. OpenTele is an OpenSource platform consisting of a mobile and web based healthcare platform. It is based on standards such as OIOXML, Continua Health Alliance and HL7.
The solution is based on health related and clinically structured questionnaires, created by healthcare professionals in a web portal. The questionnaires consist of manually and automatic (via bluetooth) entered data from medical devices, and health interview answers from the patient.
