OpenEMed is a set of distributed healthcare information service components built around the OMG distributed object specifications and the HL7 (and other) data standards and is written in Java for platform portability. We emphasize the interoperable service functionality that this approach provides in reducing the time it takes to build a healthcare related system. It is not intended as a turnkey system but rather a set of components that can be assembled and configured to meet a variety of tasks.
"DataServer is an open source XML gateway, specially tailored for the medical domain. DataServer is middleware, situated between clients and traditional Health Information Systems (HIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archive and Communication Systems (PACS). It supports relational (SQL), SOAP, and HTTP data sources out of the box, but is highly extensible for custom types."
Laika analyzes and reports on the interoperability capabilities of EHR systems. This includes the testing for certification of EHR software products and networks.
To support EHR data interoperability testing, Laika is designed to verify the input and output of EHR data against the standards and criteria identified by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT). Laika is used by the Certification Commission to perform part of the interoperability certification inspection of EHRs.
The IHE Cross Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS.b) integration profile facilitates the registration, distribution and access across health enterprises of patient electronic health records. XDS.b is focused on providing a standards-based specification for managing the sharing of medical summary documents between any healthcare enterprise, ranging from a private physician office to a clinic to an acute care in-patient facility.
ATNA is an IHE security profile representing Audit Trail and Node Authentication. OpenATNA is an implementation of an Audit Record Repository supporting RFC 3881 audit messages over BSD Syslog as well as RFC 5424-5426 (UDP and TLS).
OpenATNA Features:
- Optimizes the database so that entities such as active participants, audit sources, participant objects and codes are not duplicated for every message received.
- Performs validation of messages as they arrive.
- Optionally logs errors as well as audit messages.
- Supports TLS and UDP.
The goal of OpenIGTLink is to provide a standardized mechanism to connect software/hardware through the network for image-guided therapy (IGT) applications. The features of OpenIGTLink include:
OpenNCP is a suite of epSOS NCP software publicly available under Open Source licensing (partly GPL v. 3 and partly ASL v. 2). The software acts as a bidirectional technical, organisational and legal interface between the existing national infrastructures and also acts as a mediator as far as the legal and regulatory aspects are concerned.
OpenNCP Community is an open group of people orchestrated by an agile software development methodology conducting effort on designing, coding, testing and delivering OpenNCP software.
Linq is built using the Open mHealth open API platform and enables patients to use the apps and devices they love and share their digital health data with their doctor. It gives clinicians access to patients’ data in a way that gives them maximum clinical value and insight — without having to worry about where the data is coming from. Linq is also designed to encourage intentional, collaborative tracking between patients and clinicians, focusing the use of digital health data towards supporting clinical decision-making.
OpenEMPI is an open source implementation of an Enterprise Master Patient (EMPI) which is a repository that maintains a registry of all patients across an enterprise.
